This illustration was done for the 2006 RAINN calendar. The RAINN (Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network) charity was co-founded by singer-songwriter Tori Amos, and each year a richly illustrated calendar is created with proceeds going to the charity.

I prefer doing portraits in portrait orientation, so coming up with ideas for a landscape layout was a bit challenging. I decided to use a paper-cut-out style I had explored but not used very much in the past.
